Deja Vu

I just found out that one of my workmates has problems with her neck and back similar to the things that laid a friend of mine low a few years back. Her symptoms are almost exactly the same as his were in the early days, and I'm trying to think of ways to tell her be careful with the decisions she makes about her treatment. She's having scans and such done next week, and I'm fairly certain that they're going to find osteophytes and possibly herniated discs. I'm not a doctor by any stretch of the imagination, but the things I'm hearing from her are strikingly similar to the things my friend was told years ago. I hope for her sake that she makes sensible decisions unmoderated by the pain she is in - not an easy task.
